Dad is tall, and noticeably muscular. The man works out. He also has a bit of Gray in his hair as the result of his advanced age. He is genetically pre-disposed to thick, glorious facial and body hair but enjoys shaving so much that there is hardly an inch of hair on his entire body.

Dad is both extremely masculine, and extremely in touch with his and other’s feelings. He has a strong need to coddle and protect those around him. Despite his understanding and kind nature, at the end of the day, he is the boss, and what he says goes. He is, for the most part, a quiet and gentle man, albeit a very odd and sometimes strict teacher.

Dad was born a muggle, and for quite some time his Mother never expected him to have powers. He seemed quite content playing with his fists and conventional non-magic Betty Crocker ovens. Shortly after a bizarre incident involving thirty-three clowns, twenty unicycles and a perfectly innocent tuba, however, it was clear that he had “the gift.”
He recieved a letter on his 11th birthday, and went to Hogwarts the following year. He proved to be Gryffindor’s Silent Champion, literally beating out the competition and the odds in every match he played as the star Beater and later Captain of the Quidditch Team.
Despite his Quidditch finesse, Dad never really cared for magic, nor was he ever more than average in any of his classes. (With the exception of Care For Magical Creatures.) At a loss for what to do with himself come graduation, he decided to become a simple muggle business man like his Father had been, but kept his adoptive son close enough to the Wizarding World that he would never know.
Recently, Dad decided to come and teach at Hogwarts again, in order to spend more time with his child and ensure the future of Gryffindor—the house that represents everything this man believes in— minus the clowns, shaving cream, and baking parts.
